Some of the transactions she has spearheaded include:
Acting for a client in a multibillion project including undertaking the sub-division process, negotiating the terms of the sale of the Property, now christened Surrey Ridge.
Acting for various developers in the development of residential units which services included drafting and negotiating the salient terms of the agreements for lease, sale agreements and long term leases in respect of the residential units in the development.
Advising clients with respect to Kenya’s land laws including the land control laws, the required approvals and/or consents, the laws relating to physical planning, the land acquisition processes and basically advising clients on the applicable taxes including capital gains tax and stamp duty.
Taking instructions and acting for a client in relation to a business complex consisting of office spaces of over 250,000 square feet and advising on the drafting of short-term commercial leases.
Acting for a Purchaser in a multimillion project in Kajiado County, including undertaking detailed due diligence on the land titles, perusal of the acquisition documents to ensure that due process was followed by the seller in acquiring the property, reviewing the Agreement for Sale, negotiating and incorporating favourable terms, drafting of professional undertakings that ensured the client’s interests are protected and basically advising on various land-related issues affecting the project.
Actively involved in the negotiations of various complex real estate projects and land use transactions.
Undertaking and concluding general conveyancing transactions including the sale of property, transfer of property, leasing and charging of land and giving legal advice on matters touching on land.
Has actively and directly liaised with Ministry of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning on various matters including the subdivision processes which entails the surrender of title and the subsequent issuance of new leases.
Has acted for various lenders in relation to the creation and perfection of securities with respect to asset financing, working capital financing and acquisition of property, these briefs include the preparation of debentures and charges.
Acting for several Proprietors in the release of their Titles held as securities, which briefs include advising the client on arising matters, preparation of Deed of Release of Assignment, Discharge of Charge, Partial Discharge, Discharge of Debentures.
Advising clients on various commercial matters and subsequently drafting commercial contracts to fit the clients’ needs including convertible loan agreements, joint venture agreements, agency agreements, loan agreements, novation agreements, share purchase agreements, share subscription agreements, financing agreements, consultancy agreements.
Advising a client and undertaking the registration of a non-profit organization undertaking charitable community projects in various matters such as promoting Education for the disadvantaged, menstrual health and ensuring legal compliance by the NPO.
Advising and acting for local and international clients on matters businesses in Kenya, undertaking the incorporation of companies, undertaking complex restructuring of companies including transfer of shares, appointments, resignations and change of name applications while observing the relevant laws as provided in the Companies Act.
Acting for a local investor dealing in petroleum products in its establishment in Rwanda including advising on compliance and the anti-money laundering laws.
Acting for a local company in various cross border transactions including the registration of its trademark in Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.
