Recently, on 11th April 2023 the ODPC issued Penalty Notices against WhitePath Company limited and Regus Kenya, fining each of them Kshs.5,000,000. The ODPC had received close to 150 complaints against WhitePath Company Limited alleging that their applications have accessed their mobile phone books and were sending unwarranted and unsolicited text messages to their contacts. Further, there were allegations of WhitePath staff harassing the complainants’ contacts irregularly.
